Napoléon at
the
Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
One day
in January,
on our way out after visiting another exhibition at the museum, we
stopped by the permanent gallery devoted to Napoléon. A jewel!
-
Cocked hat and boots that belonged to Napoléon.
-
A
beautiful collection of silverware; glasses, plates, and other
dishes. Fine dishes, unembellished but sumptuous.
-
Artworks, a marble bust of Napoléon.
-
Superb armchairs with carved wood, covered with richly woven
material; in a state of conservation surprising for furniture of
the 19th century. By far my preferred pieces in this
exhibition.
This is
a permanent exhibition that you can visit in 20 minutes or few
hours, an exhibition not to miss.
