The youngsters are sculpting with the artist Daniel Laramée
The
long way to a finished clay sculpture…We
start the process on October 21 at the “Spaghetti Day” held by the
Club Richelieu Île Perrot. The young people will then give form to
clay, each one working on a piece that will be integrated thereafter
into a common work. But it cannot be completed immediately because
clay takes 3 to 4 months to dry, and there is still no colour!
The
pieces will thus be stored for drying and the painting session will
take place in June at “Dehors, les artistes!” the Galerie Pierre
Séguin’s annual art festival.
Then
during the summer, the artist will assemble all the small works in
order to carry out the final work. This one will be exhibited at
Galerie Pierre Séguin in August at a “vernissage” that will gather
all the participants.
Those
who want to undertake this long adventure are invited to join us on
October 21. The “Spaghetti Day” is held at the secondary school
Chêne bleu, 225 boulevard Pincourt, in Pincourt. The meals will be
served between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. The price of the meal is $8 for
adults, $4 for children 5 to 12 years old and free for children
under 5 years old; the tickets will be on sale at the door. The
young people will be able to take part in the sculpture workshop
between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (free of charge).
All the
proceeds of the day are redistributed in the region by Club
Richelieu Île Perrot to more than 50 organizations assisting young
people and other charitable organizations.
